      New Board Config Caching
Posted by forumwise @ Sat Jan 29, 2011 12:30 am
To improve the performance of the server, we are now caching the configuration settings of all forums.

While this change will speed up your forum, there is a small impact that forum admins should be aware of. The settings are cached for 5 minutes, so if you make any changes to your admin settings, it may take up to 5 minutes before these changes will be active. For example, changing your board template or closing your board may have a small delay before activating.

      New Registrations Currently Closed
Posted by Sime @ Wed Jan 26, 2011 7:33 pm
Due to unforeseen circumstances related to an influx of rogue admin sign-ups, we have had to temporarily close new forum registrations.

We cannot at this time give a date as to when registrations will be re-opened.

Existing forums will be unaffected by this action and all regular ForumWise operations will continue as usual.

    Thank you for your understanding.

ForumWise is now on a powerful new server.

    • New generation chips which are faster than current server's.
    • Monstrously huge 6 gigs of memory, 50% more than now to improve speed
    • Two disk RAID system for double the disk robustness.

      New Flash bbCode
Posted by forumwise @ Sun Jan 20, 2008 7:44 pm

Admins and Moderators on your forum are now able to embed Flash directly in forum posts. This opens a whole new range of possibilities, like adding flash banners, flash applications, flash movies and flash games into your threads.

      New File Upload Option
Posted by forumwise @ Sun Jan 20, 2008 6:11 am
The optional File Upload Feature which allows members to use a built-in upload forum right on the post/reply page has been enhanced to allow admins to select either FastFiles or ImageShack as the upload service.

To adjust this setting for your forum visit General Admin -> Configuration and select the desired option under File Upload Feature.

      Shout Box Message Panel
Posted by forumwise @ Wed Dec 05, 2007 10:43 pm
Our new Shout Box message control panel provides new functionality which allows admins to both view the IP address of shouts as well as the ability to remove shouts as needed.

The Shout Box now keeps a longer history of messages, so if the need ever arises to delete shouts using this new panel, the valid message history will be retained. In other words it is now possible to "un-deface" the Shout Box as needed.

See General Config -> ShoutBox Msgs to view shout IPs and delete shouts.
