Feature Request Forum Overview
Please read these few notes before posting your feature requests.
Forum Rules and Procedures:
- Please use this forum, the Feature Request Forum to post your feature requests.
- Please check the Review List before posting your feature request to make sure yours isn't already included.
- Create a new topic for your feature request.
- One request per topic, please.
- Please use a descriptive title for your post. Topics with titles like:
- "This would rock!"
- "Just what I was looking for!"
- "Please install this mod!"
...might get ignored or locked without ever being reviewed. Request Format:
Due to the high volume of requests we receive, it is highly advised that all requests be made using the following format:
- Title: A short yet descriptive title for your requested modification.
- Description: A short description of what your requested modification should do. Please be as specific as possible.
- Reason: A short justification detailing why you think the modification should be implemented. Please note: Modifications which would be useful to a majority of users are preferred above those which would only be useful to you and your forum.
- Additional Notes: Anything else which might convince us to choose your modification for polling. For example, if you know that your requested modification exists in a downloadable format, please include a link where it can be found. Such information helps us greatly in reviewing requests.
The better the format of your request, the better the chances are that it will be incorporated into the Review List.
Initial Reviews and Notes:
After your modification request has been initially reviewed, a note will be added by a Forum Moderator. Possible notes are:
- Added: This means that your requested modification has been added to the Review List and will be taken into consideration for polling.
- Clarification Required: This means that your request is unclear and that more information is needed. If your request receives this note, please go into more detail regarding what it is you would like the modification to do in terms of functionality.
- Redundant: This means that the desired functionality of your requested modification is already possible through currently available means. If your request receives this note, please start a new thread in the General Support Forum for assistance.
- Duplicate: This means that your requested modification or a modification very similar in functionality has already been added to the Review List.
- Format: This means that your request failed to exhibit the proper request format. If your request receives this note, please reformat and post again in the same thread.
- Rejected: This means that your requested modification would either be impossible to implement or is too narrow in its functionality to be of use to others.
- Forwarded: This means that your requested modification is more of a minor tweak and has been forwarded to the System Administrator for immediate review.
- Implemented: This means that your request is more of a minor tweak and has been implemented immediately.
Once the issues surrounding your request have been resolved and your request itself processed, the thread in which it first appeared will be locked. Locked threads will be deleted at the discretion of the moderating team.
The Review List:
Any requested modifications which have been deemed both capable of implementation and potentially useful to the majority of users will appear in the Review List. This List is the pool from which candidate modifications will be selected for public polling.
The Poll:
3-5 candidate modifications will be chosen from the Review List on a periodic basis for public polling. Modifications will be selected for polling based on criteria such as feasibility, file size, work load, functionality and usefulness. Members will then be able to vote for the one modification they would like to see implemented. Polling will continue for a period of approximately two weeks, after which time the poll will be closed. The modification which receives the most votes will then be implemented in a reasonable timeframe, depending upon the file size and work load required.
After a modification has been selected and implemented, the poll will be pruned, supplemented and restarted for the next round of voting. A candidate modification must receive at least 2 votes to retain the possibility of remaining on the poll. Otherwise, it will automatically be removed and replaced.
If you need any assistance regarding your request, please contact a Forum Moderator. |
