Is it possible to install a separate program.......

I am looking to find out if we can install gwBBcode to our forum??

It would be beneficial to many of our members.....and several have requested it....the problem is that I cannot " link" it by myself....it just does not seem to work.....

I can add a link....
but we would like to add the program itself....so that when we post builds, they come out LOOKING like the real thing....

is that possible?

Well, first thing is those are only instructions for using it, not installing it.

And secondly, that is highly custom hack that no one else has ever asked for here in our years of operation, so I don't think I will persue it.

But...

You can add the ability to quickly add these images to posts if you upload them as custom smilies. Then your members can just click in the emoticons box that appears on the posting page to add them.

It might look something like this:

many Guild Wars official fansites use gwBBcode, and it would be a good addition to our site.....

Did a bit of investigating.....and download info is here

have heen told that it can be placed into the forum directory using
forum_dir/gwbbcode/install.php

Its license, GPL, makes it open source and free, so you can modify and spread it all you want!

Please reconsider.....

I appreciate the additional research and did look into it some more.

Unfortunately this requires edits to several template files, and considering that we have hundreds of templates, that isn't viable.

I'm afraid it's a bit too involved and non-general in nature to be a good new feature candidate. I'm sorry we couldn't help you with it.
