Who is Anonymous?

hi guys....just a quick question. 3 or 4 times in the last couple of months, I have noticed Anonymous online on my forum. However, I cant click on this name as you can with other user's names in the who's online box...and when i look for this member Anonymous, it says this user does not exist. I have banned the username Anonymous, but still...Anonymous keeps slipping in.... Shocked

any clues to who Anonymous is? or as to how they might be getting into my forum undetected??
Anyone else ever had this problem??

It's the googlebot. It's harmless and all it does is checks the pages for relevant information regarding someone's search. Please unban it. Keeping it banned is against our TOS.

thats odd all my bots to inclued yahoo and google are on as guest i have never seen anonymous

Anonymous is an internal name that is used in phpBB. It is like the username of all guests. Typically it doesn't appear in the who's online, although I have seen it happen.

thanks for puttin my mind at ease....I freaked when i couldnt track the movements of anonymous, or find it as a members name... Rolling Eyes
