Some had requested an enhancement that would allow forum moderators to have banning powers, without having to make them forum administrators.
This feature will provide moderators with access to the same ban control panel the admins have, except moderators will not be able to ban other moderators or admins, only users.

Note that this has been replaced by the Moderator Control Panel.
