Overview
In order to provide this free service we have a few common sense rules and service guidelines. All forum administrators are responsible for understanding the terms of service (TOS) and adhering to them.
Violations of the TOS will be grounds for immediate removal of a forum.
Terms of Service Summary
We cater to open family-friendly forums.
Forums should not link to, focus on or contain any form of spam, repetitious spam postings, excessive profanity, illegal or offensive topics, violence, hate, hacking, cracks, booters, keys, viruses, stolen accounts, warez, torrents, downloads of any kind, pirated media, porn, nudity, drugs, gambling, poker, weapons, alcohol or tobacco.
No ad units or ad popups may be added to a forum. Also forums may not be used in conjunction with autosurf or traffic packages.
A valid email account must be maintained for your forum at all times.
Abandoned forums may be removed.
Terms of Service Details
All forums should be family-friendly in nature with no illegal, offensive, "adult", nudity or vice-related subject matter.
We ask that forums make a majority of their forum posts public as we support open communities. (Note this does not apply to forums with the premium Unlimited Private Forums option.)
We require that forum administrators take steps to prevent their boards from being used to spam or promote any type of spam, as well as forbid use of spam to promote forums. Sanctioning of repeated "spam" posts is not allowed. We strongly recommend that forums are configured to require registration for posting, and that account activation utilizes the email activation and security code features that are built into the software. Also note that threads designed to artifically inflate post counts are also forbidden.
Administrators are responsible for compliance with the Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act of 2000 (COPPA), which requires individuals under 13 to provide a release form from their parents. (Forum software provides support for COPPA during registration.)
Excessive profanity or swearing is not allowed.
Boards may not discuss topics promoting violence, hate, intolerance, hacking, cracking, booters, warez, torrents, downloads, pirated media, pornography, "adult" themes, illegal drugs, legal drugs, gambling, guns, knives or other weapons, alcohol, tobacco or smoking.
No external advertising may be added to any forum including PPC or other advertising units or any kind of advertising popup.
Forums must not be used as the target of "traffic blast" packages or in autosurf networks, or with any other system that artificially boosts or creates automatic pageviews.
A valid email account must be maintained for your forum at all times. This is the email set in your forum configuration.
Forums must retain a certain level of activity. Forums that have had no new posts in the past 30 days will be considered abandoned and may be removed. Keep your forum active, to avoid being pruned.
Forums may include advertisements, although we will never add popups or popunders. We offer optional premium ad-free packages.
Also, administrators must not do anything to impede access to the public areas of their forum by any ad-network or search-engine robots including Googlebot, Mediabot, Slurp and MSNbot. Banning such bots may result in removal of your forum.
Individuals who harass, deface or damage a ForumWise forum may be banned from the system.
