EC:

For starters, how about sprucing up the Welcome Module? "Welcome to Video Gaming Forum Please Register!" is not exactly enticing. Why not give a few reasons why they should join? Maybe a few images would help. You have picked a good-looking template, so you have some nice given graphic elements to work with.

Also, how about coming up with a more integrated banner? That yellow and green thing is not working, in my opinion.

And use those additional custom modules!

EC,

Making a site/forum and expecting loads of people to come and sign up really fast and being popular in 1 day is inpossible. It takes time to get your forum off the ground. You have to be patient and advertise on other forums and make banners promoting the forum. Why don't you write a little paragraph explaining why members should join your forum and what you have to offer? But don't make it too long, as it puts people off straight away if you have loads of text and no images/banners!

This is an example of text that you could you:

(Have a banner made and use it above your text)
"I'm just gonna tell you about my new site/forum. It's all about video gaming and PSP. The forum have just opened recently and it's all brand new and awaiting members. I'm just gonna do a couple of quick sentences on why you should join my forum;"

Tell them a few things on why they should join and what you can offer. I mean i have a forum, an x-factor forum and i still need more members. I have 101 members up to now, who are posting regulary, but it's took me nearly 3 months just to get them members and have them posting regulary!
www.xfactor.forumwise.com

It's very hard to get members as everyone who owns a forum knows that. It's all about patience and just advertising on other forums around the internet and hoping and praying that you get members who post regulary. Also it's how your site looks and your content. Make sure it's nice and neat and visible for people to view.

But good look & hope you do well!

EC:

Your forum's subject is pretty much the same as mine, so I might be able to help you out...

- Create a portal
Tell members what your forum is about, what you have to offer, etc. This can be done by making a portal, and using the custom modules.

- Use proper grammar
End sentences with periods, spell check, and capitalize.

- New Banner
Get a banner that blends with the background (blue).

- Use descriptive descriptions
Describe exactly what is you talk about in that forum (try not to end all descriptions with ".... here!")

- New Theme
I recommend getting a new theme, as all of your members won't like PS2, some will be XBOX lovers, or Nintendo lovers. (I recommend CS_red)

New banner: I don't really know where to find a banner that blends. Suggestions on where to find some?

as your forum is generally about gaming i suggest a PC gaming forum? with that you may create a screenshot topic, quite popular.

and maybe a good thing to do is make some topics in your forums, theres nothing to read about.. generally you would want to look at someones forum and see there are already topics to read.. try that..

It is hard. I run gamingworld.forumwise.com and it's pretty much the same thing you have. I had it going once, but a person got banned and it sort of went down from there.

You're Portal has a glitch in it. Everytime you refresh the page it comes up white.
