ForumWise provides an advanced set of formatting features that you won't find on any other forum.

Five new bbCodes provide these formatting features:
  • The "center" code can be used to center-align text or pictures.

  • The "right" code can be used to align content on the right edge.

  • The "left" code can be used to align content on the left edge. While text and pictures are left-aligned by default, these tags can be used inside of each other, so this provides a complete alignment suite.

  • The "imgleft" code works like the existing "img" tag, but will cause the image to be aligned to left and allows the surrounding text to be wrapped around the image for a professional layout.

  • The "imgright" code works like the "imgleft" tag, but the text can be wrapped around an image aligned to the right.

  • The "imgcenter" code can be used to center images with a single bbCode.

Note that the bbCode pallette has not been modified to include these tags, so admins can make their members aware of these tags if they like.

The following posts will provide examples of these tags for reference. The first has bbCode enabled and the second has bbCode disabled so you can see how the codes work...

This first part is an example of using the imgleft and imgright tags to cause the surrounding text to wrap around the images, which are aligned to the left or the right, respectively. This type of look is commonly seen on professional news websites, etc. and can be a nice way to weave pictures into your text in an integrated fashion. The half-moon image was done with imgleft and the full-moon image was done with imgright. If you change the width of your browser you will see the words shift around, while the images remain fixed to the left and right edges. For this example, so far, there are no line breaks as this helps to emphasize the wrapped-text effect.

Next we provide some simple examples of the left, center and right tags:

This set of text is left-aligned.
Yes, still aligned to the left here. Smile
Okay finishing left.
This is center aligned,
the center tag can be handy for centering images or titles. Okay
this is enough for center.
Smile
And finally, right-aligned using the right bbCode tag.
I think this gives
an idea of what can be done.
Wink

For completeness, we've added the [imgcenter] tag.
