as maurer pointed out - what do you need doing precisely. I'd say each of us has their own particular skills (please don't look at me for html help as I'm awful at it!)

makea list of bullet points of what you need doing and then say how you will repay the person for their help

Jacko:

It seems like you are basically asking for someone to come in and do all the set up work for you.

If you want a forum, you need to put in the work yourself. The folks here - myself included - are willing to help you in terms of advice and guidance, but we're not going to do it for you. Do some brainstorming and come up with a detailed plan, and we will give you ideas and help as to how you could achieve it using the available features.

Just to avoid confusion: "I want a forum that rocks and has lots of members" is not a plan.

And asking for a second administrator at such an early stage is just a bad idea. plain and simple. I advise against it.

Like I said, tell us exactly what you want to do and we will walk you through it step by step.

in all honesty, Jacko, if you need people to do all of those things then perhaps starting a forum is a bad idea. Why not work as a moderator on someone else's forum for a while and build up experience?

Jacko,

Your intelligence wasn't insulted. It was suggested that by being a moderator/administrator you could learn how to design and layout a great effective forum. Having a well designed forum will make it easy to get visitors and new members too.

After all, no one gets behind the wheel of a car knowing how to drive like a pro. Those skills are learned through trial and error and watching others. Just like building and running a forum.

Good luck to you.

alright then jack, seeing as though designing, running and promoting a forum weren't in either of the two modules you took, why don't you just experiment for a bit? Forumwise currently hosts 920 forums, and yours has had absolutely zero amount of work put into it thus far. You've got one single post up and you're already asking for other Admins - who have their work cut out trying to make their own forums a success - to do teh groundwork for you.
Go check out Taize's forum. He's spent months on it. While it doen't have many users (it's way beyond teh realms of average intelligence), it shows dedication, experimentation and perserverance.

Ask yourself this question; why exactly do you want a forum? Mark provides a free service so just go with the flow. When you've spent a few weeks experimenting (and it's more than okay to come to support and plead for someone to help reconfig your portal after you've screwed up codes, that's what we're here for), then come and showcase it and ask for suggestions. Firstly, YOU must put in some hard work. Why would anyone else want to admin YOUR site when there's nothing there and they can start a site for themselves for free?

I'm not dissing you. You come back with some proof that you've been working and I'm sure you'll find some help.

Punctuation?

Instead of posting on here, why aren't you experimenting?

This was not an insult to your intelligence. It was an honest piece of advice meant to help you get a clearer picture of what it is you want to achieve.

Let me give you an example of what I, as a support regular, would like to see from someone asking for help designing their forum. Let's use "Installing a Custom Background" as an example:

You should write something like:

Hello All:

I would like to install a custom background on my forum, but have no idea how to do so. Could someone please help me out?

-or-

I have an image, but it doesn't seem to load properly. (etc.)

If you can describe what it is exactly that you want to do, someone will help you figure out how to do it by either telling you or directing you to the corresponding place in the Online User's Guide here at Forumwise.

So, what is it that you want to do exactly?

Jacko, your what most people call a leecher. From the looks of things you want people to set it up and do everything while you take the credit. Ovbiously your not ready to make your own forum yet. You will be ready when you can do atleast 90% of them things yourself.

Jacko,

Check out the help, hints, tips and userguides section - give it a good read over and then come back to General Support if you need more help.

Jacko:

Sorry that you feel that way, Jacko. I'm fairly sure everyone here was quite serious about helping you - they all helped me when I started here.

But after a comment like that, I wouldn't be surprized if your posts were just ignored from now on.
